We are welcoming to our shop, St. Zelie Martin! We chose a Vanilla Carmel Earl Grey to represent our dear Zelie. In this tea there is Black Tea, Oolong Tea, Natural Pomegranate Flavor, Red Cornflowers, Natural Vanilla Flavor, Natural Caramel Flavor & Natural Bergamot Flavor. 
 
But why this tea?
 
St. Zelie Martin was born in 1831 in France. She was the second child of three children to her parents. Zelie was raised with a strong faith and love for Jesus. She had decided to give herself to the Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, but Zélie was denied entrance due to health problems she suffered with. 
 
Later in her life she came across St. Louis and was quite literally told by God, "This is he whom I have prepared for you." They went on to have nine beautiful children together, but only five of them remained here on Earth. Zelie loved her children so deeply and with every part of her body and soul. She once said, "When we had our children, our ideas changed somewhat. Thenceforward we lived only for them; they made all our happiness and we would never have found it save in them. In fact, nothing any longer cost us anything; the world was no longer a burden to us. As for me, my children were my great compensation, so that I wished to have many in order to bring them up for Heaven." 
 
St. Zelie had such a warm heart and shared that with each of her children. We felt this Vanilla Carmel Earl Grey was such an appropriate tea for her based on the sweet notes of caramel and the warmth of the vanilla.
