Many of us are pet lovers and as such, I’m sure we are mostly all aware of St. Francis of Assisi. St. Francis became our dear Patron Saint of Animals. He was born in Assisi, Italy to a wealthy family. His father was a merchant and his entire life he was expected to eventually take over this business. In Frances’s teen years, he turned towards more of a party lifestyle, but despite that, he found Christ and actually became a Franciscan Friar. He had a love for animals of all sorts which is how he became the Patron Saint of Animals.
